It’s challenging to play Devi in Sethji: Prachi Thakker

The actor chats with IndianWikiMedia

Talented and beautiful actress Prachi Thakker, who became a household name being part of shows lke Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Havan, is quite excited about her ongoing Zee TV show Sethji (Offshore Productions).

“It is an interesting concept with a lot of masala packed tracks. My negative rural character with comic touches is a lot fun which motivates me to be on the set.  It is a challenge for me to play Devi for in real life I am quite reserved but my character is loud with lot of nakrhas. My last show Neeli Chatri Waale again on Zee again had a positive plot with humour elements, something which I love,” says Prachi to IndianWikiMedia.

Since this is Prachi’s first tryst with negative genre, we ask her about what she feels about the same. “To be honest, I was a bit apprehensive but then I said yes for the character is justified in wrecking havoc for her husband was shortchanged (he had to be Sethji).  However, she plays her card very careful not doing it in vampishly but in a very bichari and comic style,   so no one can guess she is the master brain  behind.”

“One other positive playing a negative is that you get to play with shades like the comic angle. Positive character’s on the other have a restrictive graph.  In fact, Rajan Shahi the producer of Havan had suggested that I have it in me to play a vamp as well. Then things did not work out and I played a different character in the above Colors’ show,” Prachi further adds.

Prachi, who is married to TV actor Pankit Thakker , adds, “Full credit to creative team which has really worked on my look and characterization . They have given me a tag line which says baby bolegi toh sach hi bolegi, which I keep repeating.  I also sing songs which have further made my role endearing for the audience.”

Besides TV, Prachi is also open to movie roles, “But the character has to have meat and my dates need to be adjusted.  I can’t give more than a week in a single go as I am contracted to Sethiji and am very loyal to my producers.”

All the best, Prachi.
