Radhika Muthukumar who essays the role of Panjiri in Star Bharat’s popular show, Kya Haal Mister Panchal (Optimystix) is enjoying her journey as an actor!!
The actress who debuted on TV with Yeh Vaada Raha is a South Indian (Tamilian), born and brought up in Delhi. She has recently worked in a Marathi movie too.
She finds another home when on the sets of her show. “The journey of playing Panjiri has been a great learning. I don’t ever feel like I am working as we are one big family out here on the set. I enjoy my work and feel very comfortable in the role. Moreover, the Director helps us out a lot, and is like a father figure to me.”
Ask her how different or similar is she when compared to Panjiri and she states, “I am definitely not Panjiri in terms of look (smiles). I also love cooking, but will need my time to prepare food unlike Panjiri who is a master in the art of cooking.”
For Radhika, acting happened by chance and there was a time when she was not very sure of continuing her career as an actor. “Even when I was doing Yeh Vaada Raha, I really thought it to be my first and last as actor. But I am glad that the journey has continued. I feel very much comfortable before the camera, and feel like I was meant to be here.”
On the close-knit ambience on the set she states, “I just love being with every one of them on the set. We actors bond really well. My on-screen sister Prarthana (Astha Agarwal) is like my own sister. Kuntiji (Kanchan Gupta) is like my mom. We all hang out together when we have free time.”
On the biggest learning that life has taught her till now, she avers, “I have understood that one needs to only concentrate on work while working. Enjoyment is always there when you are clear about the importance of work. Also, it is essential to not get tensed during work.”
Wish you all the luck, Radhika!!
