Shakti- Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, India’s most popular daily soap, ended on a good note. Kamya Punjabi was one of the cast members that had been with the show since the beginning. The actress recently spoke up about the show’s significance in her life as well as her battle with depression while filming. In an interview with Etimes, she talked about coming to grip with the show’s end.

“I sobbed a lot when the director announced pack-up,” she said of her thoughts at the successful show’s closure. “For a few hours, I didn’t leave the set. It’s been a few days since the shoot ended, but I’m still in a bad mood.”

She also talked about the show’s rather abrupt end, saying that it was a deliberate choice that everyone agreed on. She is relieved that it concluded on a positive note rather than being dragged out excessively. Kamya also claimed that she was approached for the show when she was going through a personal crisis. She had ended her relationship with actor Karan Patel.

“Shakti has given me a new life,” she remarked. “When I first came on the show, I was depressed. Karan married in 2015, and I was unable to work for over a year. When I first joined the show in 2016, I was in a bad way. Yeh show ne zinda rakha and ek nayi zindagi dee. I immersed myself in work and gradually grew out of that phase.”
