My kind of comedy is self-derogatory: Karan Wahi

Karan Wahi talks about how he is a jack of all trades and is trying to master one...

Handsome hunk Karan Wahi is the charmer of the small screen. The actor, who has impressed audience in daily shows, reality shows and movies, feels he is the jack of all trades, and master of none. However, he loves being the master of none.

“I am happy that I am an all rounder; I am doing a show on Colors, a movie, doing something on web and also hosting. I am happy that I get to do everything that I love and that has made me. I am a jack of all trades. A lot of people say that I should master one but I love being ‘jack of all trades, master of none’. I get to experience more. I am trying to become master of all trades too,” says Karan.

Talking about his upcoming comedy show Entertainment Ki Raat, he shares, “When initially I was offered ‘Entertainment Ki Raat’, the first thought that came in my mind was why I should take this show as this is not my genre. But I think if they offered me or Ravi, it was because of our fun moments in Spain in Khatron Ke Khiladi. They informed me about different sections in the show that are really unique. It was nothing better than working with friends so I said yes for it.”

Karan believes Comedy is a tough genre. “Comedy is difficult as there are a lot of things that you can’t say on Indian television. It has been a challenge for me. My kind of comedy is self derogatory. I can take more than I can give. I am okay with taking jokes because I feel there should also be people who can take it. I feel if I don’t give my cues, the punches will never come. Unfortunately, we Indian audience have a tendency wherein we feel that the guy who says a punch is a star and who takes it isn’t. I am okay with that because I am not here to please people but to please myself.”

On an ending note, he shares his experience working in Hate Story 4, “It has been a great experience. We have completed 99% of the shoot. I am glad I did it because it is a hit franchise and it has amazing songs too.”

Way to go, Karan!
