Sambhabana Mohanty who is even today known for her wily act in Zee TV’s Pyar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan, is presently enthralling audiences in the role of Kritika in Colors’ Suman Indori. Produced by Prateek Sharma’s Studio LSD, the show is highly intriguing, says actress Sambhabana Mohanty.
She adds that her role requires her to have layers to her portrayal, which makes it more interesting.
“Kritika is not completely ‘negative’—she does have a few traits that could be called negative, but she also has those positive qualities that balance it out. So, up until now, I have mostly been portraying her in that light,” she says.
Talking about how she fits into the story seamlessly, she says “Basically, Kritika is very naive. She’s rich and has only ever known a life of wealth, where she gets anything she wants. She’s been raised this way, especially because, after her mother passed away, it was her older sister, Devika, who raised her. Their father, being involved in politics, was always busy, so Kritika has probably never heard the word ‘no’ in her life—Devika always made sure of that.”
She adds, “Kritika hasn’t faced any pain or hardship, but at her core, she’s a good-hearted person. She might not fully understand hardship even now, but she has this innocent, almost obsessive attachment to certain things—in a positive way, not in a psychotic way. Unexpected circumstances, though, have recently come up, things she was completely unprepared for, and that’s why she feels some resentment toward Suman.”
