Mugdha Chaphekar, who rose to fame with her role in Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan, feels grateful to join as the new generation lead in Zee TV’s popular show Kumkum Bhagya, produced by Balaji Telefilms.
The talented actress will take the story forward as Abhi and Pragya’s daughter Prachi.
Talking about bagging the show and the pressure around the character, she avers, “Initially, there was pressure as it is the most loved show. It’s a huge responsibility. The treatment is fresh, as well as the name, ‘Kumkum Bhagya – Dusri Pidhi’, however the legacy remains the same. Hence, we don’t feel any pressure now. Instead we are enjoying shooting for the series.”
When Kumkum Bhagya was in news because of its leap, audience was angry as they considered the show to be shifting to the new generation. We ask Mugdha has she faced any backlash by fans on social media, she says, “I and Naina have not really checked social media as everything happened too fast and we got busy with shoot. However, I hear from people that fans were upset. I want to tell them that Kumkum Bhagya is Abhi and Pragya’s show. They are the integral part of it. We have not taken over from them. We have just entered into their family and journey will be showed along with them. I, too, love Pragya and Abhi hence I also wouldn’t want that too happen. I think with the daughters entering, their relationship will enhance in the daily.”
Mugdha is working with Balaji Telefilms for the first time. Commenting on the experience, she adds, “I am blessed and grateful as it is an amazing team to work with. I have known Sriti (Jha), so we bonded well and she was very supportive during the process. Shabbir (Ahluwalia) is also a talented actor. Hence it is a learning experience every day.”
On an end note, she adds, “There are a lot of twists and turns in the show, like always. I would request fans to stay with us and support and shower their love on us as we promise to entertain them.”
Good luck, Mugdha!
