In an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Tina spoke about her journey in the show, the challenges of coming as a replacement, and more. Read on:
How has the journey been with the show so far?
It has been absolutely amazing. One of the best shows I have done so far with such a supportive, down-to-earth, and fun cast. I really look forward to going to work every day no matter how tired I am. I am so grateful to Ekta Mam, Balaji Telefilms, and Zee TV for this opportunity. I feel really blessed.
How have you evolved as an actor with this Rhea’s journey?
This show has taught me to deal with a lot of pressure. We get the script on set with sometimes monologues of 4 pages which can be quite challenging especially with a limited time to learn. But I have to say the team is so supportive. I have learnt a lot from them. I feel the best bit is I am growing as an actor.
You came as a replacement, was it risky for you as an actor?
I quit my job as a chartered accountant in the UK and moved from the UK to India with no contacts in the industry to become an actor. I have always been a risk-taker and challenges excite me. The sense of achievement you get after overcoming the challenge is blissful. So yes a replacement is always a risk, but what is life without some risks.
Any particular challenges you faced to get into the skin of Rhea’s character after Pooja?
Initially yes, but I think with time I am getting to grasp the character.
Do you fear getting typecast after playing a negative character?
No, I don’t have such fears.
What do you enjoy playing: a negative or positive role?
Both equally. Also, I think characters cannot be only negative or only positive because that’s not how real people are. Everyone has a bit of good and a bit of bad in them.
When you look back at your journey in the industry, how do you feel about it?
This year I completed 5 years in the industry and living in Mumbai. It has been a great journey so far. The only thing I get upset about is missing out on spending time with my parents and my brother.
Any final message
I just want to thank the audience for accepting me as Rhea and for all the love so far.
