I live life on my own terms: Karan Mehra

Karan Mehra who has returned to fiction after a long time with a guest appearance in Star Plus show Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampanna is enjoying the journey.

Says Karan, “Although I don’t shoot much for this Dipti Kalwani production, the experience of getting beaten up on screen was something new. My doctor character’s medical formula gets stolen and he is wrongly used to make a killer drug and I am made the bad guy.”

“So in a way my story sets the foundation for the tale to go ahead and my daughters (Shrenu Parikh and Tina Ann Philip) struggle to clear my name,” he states.

Here Karan informs that us that his already-dead character who comes in flashback scenes will soon exit the show.

“I now want to get back to proper long running show and I am in talks for a few projects, let’s see what happens,” he exclaims.

Karan who first gained name and fame courtesy Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai had quit in 2016 owing to health issues. “My immunity levels had come down to dangerous levels. So I decided to take a break. People back then knew I was not keeping well but this immunity part was not well known.”

He then appeared in Bigg Boss 10. “It was sad that they the makers resorted to 50% audiences and 50% inmates vote rule to get me out as no one was nominating me. But no regrets.”

But Bigg Boss did not change the ball game for you as it did with Yeh Rishta co- star Hina Khan, “Well I did Khatmal E Ishq (SAB TV) and I was also offered Khatron Ke Khiladi, but could not do it as my son was being born around the same time.”

“I deliberately took a year’s break for I wanted to be there for every of his very early milestones. I have been a very hands-on father; there is nothing I won’t do for him from bathing him, making him eat to taking him out.”

“I have no regret for I live life on my terms. I also need to take it easy,” says Karan.

“I am now rearing to go having worked on my body and look. My new bearded avatar, which is a cross over between the good and bad guy is an attempt to offer variations to makers,” he ends.

Best of luck, Karan!!
