We are all set to celebrate Lohri with the ushering of the New Year. Considered as one of the first festivals soon after a New Year commences, Lohri spreads positivity, and happiness and signifies the victory of light over darkness. Lohri which is celebrated amid the happy ambience of the bonfire, dance and music, traditional food etc, kickstarts a festive mood. Simaran Kaur, who plays the lead role of Riddhi in the Zee TV show Jamai No 1, is happy with the arrival of this festive time.

So here she is, talking about the significance of Lohri according to her. “Lohri has always been such a special festival for me, it feels like a warm hug during the winter! I remember as a child, gathering around the bonfire with my family, singing traditional songs, and tossing popcorn and peanuts into the flames. The joy of those moments still lingers in my heart.”

The aura and significance around the festival remain the same to her even now. “Even today, I celebrate Lohri with the same excitement, surrounded by my loved ones, enjoying the warmth of the bonfire and sharing laughter.”

When there is a festival around the corner, we never shy away from talking about the delicacies we like. Simaran states, “My absolute favourite dish to eat during this time is Gajak, its sweetness just feels like a piece of the festival itself.”

Summing it up, the actress avers, “Lohri is not just about traditions; it’s about togetherness, gratitude, and creating beautiful memories. I wish everyone a Lohri filled with love, light, and happiness!”
