Mehul Kapadia is not a bad guy and is a man on a mission: Sameer Dharmadhikari of Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke 1

Sameer Dharmadhikari the prolific performer has had an amazing film and TV career. While he has had a majority of TV outings playing either historical or mythological characters, his present role of Mehul Kapadia in Rajan Shahi and Star Plus’ popular show Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke has made us sit up and enjoy the layerings in the character.

Mehul called as a ‘bhagoda’ by the masses, has been a man who has run away from his family and from people who he has encountered for all his life. Now he is back to his family and wants to prove certain things to his family.

Playing this complex character does not come easy, and Sameer Dharmadhikari is doing a great job.

Says Sameer, “This is a different character and I am enjoying playing it. I am fortunate and lucky to have played the King roles of all the eras possible. I have had a good career so far with roles that have been author-backed and challenging.”

“In Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, I play Mehul who I would say is not a bad man at all. Circumstances have made him what he is today. He has seen a lot in life when he was away from his family. He has done things that he never wanted to do. He has been portrayed in a wrong way by people and is now back to set things right. I feel that he is back with a mission. But the mission and its details have not been put out in the script right now.”

“Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke is of a soft and romantic genre. But my track has its layers and intrigue and I am happy to be playing this role,” adds Sameer.

Sameer who has donned roles in TV shows Jhansi Ki Rani, Buddha, Mahabharat, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat, Peshwa Bajirao claims that, “Mehul seems to be an over-ambitious guy and wants to make money and name soon. It so happens that such guys fall into problems very easily. And this is the circumstance Mehul sees himself in. He needs the family support and it is to be seen how he manages to gain all of this.”

Sameer is happy that the team of the show has accepted him well. “The father son bonding with Abir (Shaheer Sheikh) is coming out very nicely. Mehul has been instrumental in making the alliance of Abir and Mishti (Rhea Sharma) possible.”

Sameer is all praises for the team of Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke, and states that, “From the actors to the crew to our Director, everyone is so fantastic. A good team wins the World Cup and this show has one. It is an amazing unit and I am happy being a part of it.”

Best of luck Sameer!!
