I mind looking old on screen: Krrip Kapur Suri on quitting Zee TV’s Jeet Gayi Toh Piya More

Bearded Krrip Kapur Suri is quite a confident actor. No wonder, he has quit running Zee TV show, Jeet Gayi Toh Piya More, all because he did not want to age on screen.

“My on-screen daughter would be shown to be 25 years,” says the actor.

Most actors would have continued, for the fear of not getting fresh work. But not Krrip, who clearly minds looking old. “I told the creative team to kill my character, when the leap idea was first broached.”

He was also not bothered about upsetting his fan base, “For I know that they also would not want me to age on screen.”

Overall, Krrip has had a good experience with this Jay Mehta Productions show. “Obviously, at the end of it, you miss meeting people with whom you had spent so much time. But then, life goes on,” says Krrip, who has earlier done shows like Maan Rahe Tera Pitaah, Phulwa, etc., before grabbing the main lead in Kalash.

Here, he makes quite a frank admission, “TV does not really offer creative satisfaction, only moolah. If you wish to placate the inner actor, you need to do it within the framework of the character, which is always an ongoing process.”

Looking ahead, he claims to have a few more projects up his sleeve, but refuses to spell out more details. “All I will say is that I am open to all kinds of genres.”

Besides fiction, he is game for non-fiction as well. “I would love to shake a leg on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as well.”

He was also part of BCL 2. He is open for web series too. Point out that most of them are bold, and he says, “I am only concerned with my acting bit.”

Well said bro, why bother about things above your pay grade!!
