Mouni Roy has set high standards, and in challenge lies fun: Surbhi Jyoti

Surbhi Jyoti on Naagin 3

Talented and beautiful Surbhi Jyoti, who was away from TV, is all set to entertain audiences in a new avatar.

The actress will be seen playing the role of Bela, in Colors’ most-awaited supernatural drama, Naagin 3, produced by Balaji Telefilms.

Sharing her excitement about the show, she states, “I was confused to take up Naagin as it is a brand and the number one show.  Mouni Roy has set high standards, whether you talk about her looks, hairstyles, make-up or dresses. I feel that where there is challenge, there is more fun. So I decided to pull up my socks and do it. It is only the cast that has changed, the production is the same. Everyone wants to work with Balaji Telefilms. They have a super-talented team. It is a challenge not only for us as the cast but also for the entire team, as the previous two seasons were popular. We really don’t want to disappoint audiences and we won’t do it. I can promise this to the viewers. Please support and love us.”

When asked whether she believes in supernatural powers, she says, “I think everything that goes strong becomes supernatural. I think my mother’s love is supernatural for me as nobody can love me like that. We have grown up listening to stories related to naag-naagins. These types of stories fascinate us, where there is mystery. Naagin is loved by the audiences and is number one because it has a lot of surprise elements; and this is the beauty of the concept.”

So how did you prepare yourself for Naagin? “First of all, I convinced myself that this (Naagin) happens. I am sure when Superman was offered the character, he first convinced himself that yes there is a guy who wears his underwear on top of his clothes and who can fly. I convinced myself that there are serpents that turn into humans after 1000 years of devotion. Secondly, I accepted the comparison part. Thirdly, I wanted to do something different. I wanted to break my image and come out of my comfort zone.”

Surbhi shares that she is ready for comparison. “More than comparison, I really want to focus on my performance. Had it been Season 1, Mouni must have been scared as there have been a lot of actresses who have played a Naagin before. She must also have had the pressure of comparison. The only thing we can do is give our 100 %,” ends the actress.

Good luck Surbhi!
