Vikram Singh Chauhan regards his current Sony show, Ek Deewaana Tha (LSD Films), as one of his best so far. “My game really started with my previous Star Plus outing, Jaana Na Dil Se Door, which gave me name and fame. Qubool Hai and Ek Hasina Thi only set the stage for me in becoming a lead.”
“Playing a thriller is a challenge, for you don’t know what is going to happen next. There is no monotony, which normally happens with dramas. Also, most importantly, the narrative gives scope for male characters to do stuff. Sometimes, Vyom is shown to be obsessed with Sharanya (Donal Bisht). On other occasions, we show chemistry between us, and last but not the least, Vyom’s equation with her parents is very nice. There is much more to Vyom than being just a lover, which will unravel in the times to come.”
Going on, he says, “I enjoyed the recent possessed track. It was a challenge, for I had no personal reference points, (as in my other shows). Hence, I saw international shows for picking up expressions and gestures to understand how a possessed person will behave.”
Vikram is having a great time working with Amar Upadhyay, who plays his on-screen dad. “He is a charmer. Everybody on set wants to be with him, and his great one-liners are cherry on the cake. One thing that I noticed as a new comer was the way this actor, who has been around for 20 years, still works hard on his scenes. This encourages me to push the envelope even harder.”
Coming to his on-screen equation with Donal, he says, “People love our pairing. It feels good to see fans posting our videos on social media. Coming to off-screenvrapport, she is a fantastic person, very humble and down to earth. She also keeps to herself and yes, is a great learner. I am very comfortable working with her. I have been blessed to get great co-stars in both my lead shows.”
In closing, we ask him about the ratings of the show, to which he replies, “The numbers are decent for the 10 pm slot. And I am hopeful that with the upcoming marriage track, they will rise even further.”
Vikram, have a great career ahead!!
