Actor Lavina Tandon who essays the role of Suzzain in Star Bharat’s show Musakaan (Rashmi Sharma Productions) is enjoying her stint in the show.
Says Lavina, “This role of mine is very different from what I have played so far. For once, I am playing a positive role, where I need not play any games against anyone, need not kill anyone etc. Suzzaine is chirpy, fashionable and upfront. I am more like this in real life. So it’s easier playing this role.”
Talking about her character, she states, “She’s one of the four ladies staying in the brothel. She is a bit different from others, as she has her own terms and conditions with work. She dances only if she likes the company; she is not a gold digger basically. Like others, my character too has a reason as to why she has come to the brothel. It will slowly open up with time.”
Lavina says that the concept of Musakaan is very different. “People really think that the grass is greener on the other side with us always being in the company of men. But we are showing them the reality and telling them how tough survival is for such girls.”
“Every show of Rashmi M’am (Sharma) is different from other daily soaps. While she has a story on eunuchs in Shakti, her new show Roop shows about how men need to be passionate towards women. I have always wanted to work with her and am happy to have got the opportunity. We had workshops to attend before the shoot of Musakaan began. We actually dealt with the life of people living in brothels, and trust me, it is so painful to be in their place. We are glad that viewers have shown a good response to the show. They will connect all the more with the storyline in some time,” she adds.
Lavina along with Richa Sony happen to be the only two seniors in the group of newcomers on set. “It is a good feeling to be the seniors in the cast. But frankly speaking there is nothing like that. It is nice to know that people believe in you. Our rapport on the set with everyone is very good. Above all, it is great to be working with such a talented kid like Sonakshi Dave. She need not be taught anything; she is a bundle of talent.”
Wish you best of luck, Lavina!!
