Neeharika Roy, the young and talented beauty, who has been part of shows like Tera Yaar Hoon Main and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, is currently entertaining the masses as Radha in Zee TV’s latest show Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan. How does it feel to be a part of the show?
It’s really amazing and I consider myself very fortunate to be a part of this wonderful show which has a very unique concept from other daily soaps.
Tell us, how’s it been playing Radha so far?
I feel like I am living a life of real-life Radha by playing this character as there are a lot of similarities between them
What has been the most challenging bit about the character you are playing?
The most challenging was to represent a proper blending of devotion, simplicity, love, and comedy. And of course to act opposite a senior and famous actor like Shabir Ahluwalia was challenging too.
So how have you evolved as an actress with this journey?
The unique role of Radha as a lead character has given me much opportunity to explore my skills as an actress. By playing this role, I am learning and implementing new concepts under the proper guidance of my director and creative team. These things are gradually improving my acting skill.
Do you find any similarities between you and your character Radha?
Yes, there are many similarities between me and Radha. Like I am a devotee of Krishna, even she is. Just like Radha’s characteristics, I am very simple, compassionate, emotional, obedient, and loving towards my family.
You have been winning appreciation for your role. How does it feel? Share any best compliment received so far…
I feel very happy and consider these moments the most memorable part of my life. The best compliment I have received so far is that “my acting is very organic and natural”
How was your first meeting with Shabir Ahluwalia? How has your experience been working with him?
Yes, I remember that special moment when I first met Shabir Sir during the mock shoot. I was speechless when I saw him for the first time. I was so scared and was thinking that he may ignore me or maintain some distance. But I was wrong, he himself first came to me and introduced himself. He is a very down-to-earth person and helps and encourages me to perform better. We are having fun working with Shabir Sir. He used to introduce new games on the set and make the environment so comfortable and loving.
