Aishwarya Sakhuja, best known for her roles in Saas Bina Sasural, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Trideviyaan, and the film Ujda Chaman, makes a highly anticipated return to television after three years with Colors TV’s Zyada Mat Udd. Known for being selective with her projects, Aishwarya steps into the role of Shilpa Srivastava, a sassy and glamorous air hostess, embracing a fresh on-screen persona in this aviation drama.
In an exclusive chat, Aishwarya shared that she had to adopt a distinct accent and body language to bring authenticity to her character, “Shilpa is very sassy and diva-like, so the writers wanted a husk in my voice. Initially, it was challenging, but since they were clear about the tonality, it helped me get into the groove,” she explained.
To further refine her portrayal, she drew inspiration from a family member in the industry, “I have a cousin who is an air hostess, so I take cues from her experiences and the situations they typically encounter,” she shared.
While many view this as a fresh start, Aishwarya sees it as an evolution in her craft, “I have never rushed into taking up shows. I always ensure that whatever I choose challenges me differently. So, it’s not necessarily a new chapter, but one that will help me grow as an actor,” she said.
Zyada Mat Udd, also starring Helly Shah and Shehzad Shaikh, premiered on March 8 on Colors TV.
