In lockdown season, mythologies seem to be ruling the TV roost. Sony TV too is joining the bandwagon by re-airing it hit 2018 show titled, Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanumaan. Lead actor Nirbhay Wadhwa is delighted at his hit Contiloe Entertainment offering making a comeback.
“Hanuman is my clarion call. I am portraying this Ram devotee in ongoing & TV show as well. Mythos offers better content then saas-bahu sagas, helping gen-next reconnect with our great heritage and culture. Kid’s today don’t know much about Sanjeevani herb which Hanuman airlifted from Himalaya to save a grievously injured Laxman in Lanka. They are equally clueless about the contributions of greats like Jambhavan, Nal and Neel in Ramji’s epic battle against the demon king Ravana. Watching Sankat Mochan will get them up to speed.”
Apart from Sankat, Nirbhay is also currently seen as Dushasana in Star Plus’s Mahabharat. “Back then, I could not see my episodes but now saw the all-important Draupadi disrobing episode. Here VFX effects play a vital role, while we all know what happened, the visual grandeur keeps our interest alive.”
He had also played the evil Kalasur in Ekta Kapoor’s Qayamat Ki Raat. In closing, Nirbhay informs about his upcoming web series debut, “We had just canned one episode of Hai Prabhu (MX. Player) when Corona did its thing. There is one more Sony Liv project where I play an underworld don. No details, please, let the makers make the relevant announcements. Web offers differentiated content. I stay away from the s*x and sleaze route as I believe these devices are not needed to sell your stuff if the story is good.”
