Aajay Mehra moved to the city of dreams, Mumbai with a clear ambition of becoming an actor. After working behind the camera, the actor got his first break with Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki wherein he played the negative parallel lead.
Aajay was part of Shiamak Davar’s dance troop but he felt that dance was not his passion. Later, he pursued MBA in Advertising and PR. After which he worked behind the camera for Indian Idol.
Currently, he is seen as the negative lead in Zee TV’s Zindagi Ki Mehek.
Talking about it, Aajay tell us, “Grey shade roles are actually my forte as I think I can easily carry off a well-etched negative character. Being an actor, we need to be open to doing everything. I am comfortable portraying grey shade characters as I think I have a leadership quality. They have a lot of layers which make them very challenging and fun to play. I don’t have a cute face instead I have sharp features. My looks do not support the positive shade role. Having said this, I am a versatile actor.”
When asked about his inspiration in acting, he shares, “Al Pacino, Aamir Khan, Dilip Kumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Boman Irani. They are all good actors and very natural. I really connect with them instead of the superstars of Bollywood.”
Aajay feels the universe is his inspiration. He says, “I get motivated by humble and grounded people around me. I believe in humanity. I observe people around me and take inspiration from them.”
Way to go, Aajay!!
