Alka Kaushal the senior Bollywood and television actress is engaging one and all with her apt display in Star Plus and Rajan Shahi’s popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai in the role of the businesswoman, Sita.
Alka who is a veteran when it comes to her prolific performances has a strong hold on the intrigue factor in the show now.
Says Alka, “It is a cameo role with what I have been told. However, they have told me that it can come back any time. The character of Sita is very good. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is very iconic and getting back to work post lockdown, I wanted to get back with a production house which will take good care of me. I will now say that nobody better than Rajan Shahiji. They have been taking utmost care of everyone on the set. I am happy that I am in a show where I am taken good care of. There was a lot of stress initially when I got the offer, as we have to put our life on risk by coming out. But I have to say that I have overcome the fear now.”
The best part for Alka Kaushal was that she was directly picked for the role without going through any auditions.
“As of now, Sita is straight, traditional and honest. If Sita is funding anyone, she looks at how the people are. She gives collateral only when the family is good enough, grounded and cultured,” says Alka on her role.
On working amid the new normal of the pandemic scare, Alka questions, “Why does this need to be the new normal? I don’t want this to be the new normal. What kind of normal is this? You cannot work with a fear in your mind and worry when you leave the house. I will say, hats off to all the housewives who have so much work at home, and they have come out to shoot too. It is really tiring as a daily process to manage so much. I am very lucky as my husband helps me a lot in taking care of my home. As of now, I am enjoying my work outside. I am a person who usually does not socialize much. But for people who are very outgoing, this new norm will be really painful. I really hope we get our old phase of lifestyle back.”
