Well-known TV artist, Rajesh Kumar, who had returned to his native home state of Bihar to pursue organic farming, wishes to clarify that he has not hung up his acting boots. “Some people have wrongly assumed that. On the contrary, I have now moved to films, and am doing an important role in Student Of The Year 2. I am a part of Tiger Shroff’s family, along with Manasi Joshi Roy as my on-screen wife.”

He has just finished a cameo in Belanwali Bahu as well.

“For the moment, I am busy with the above film shoot, and then will need to be back on my farm in June, to oversee mango cultivation. But post that, I will be open to TV shoots as well. I can easily manage 15 days in Mumbai and 15 days in Bihar. And you know that farming is seasonal; so I have ample time. Plus, dad is also there to supervise stuff. Last but not the least, modern technology has made it possible for me to monitor temperature, water seepage and important fluctuations, sitting in distant Mumbai,” avers Rajesh.

Talking about his move from performing to farming, he says, “I believe it is important for every citizen to do his bit towards society as per his/her limitations. I had been following my father’s efforts in the above direction for a while, which inspired me to take the plunge. Organic farming not only helps the farmers get better quality yields, but even you and me get to eat healthy natural stuff.”

Adding more on his take on farming, the actor quips, “It was not easy, but slowly and steadily, I am convincing farmers to dump fertilizers and go green. It is my job to help them avail govt faculties, which organic farming gets, by liaising with various authorities. And here, when I met them and other farmers, they had no clue who I was, which was also a reality check.”

Ask him about Sarabhai Season 2 on the web, and he says, “It did well, although we don’t have hard numbers, but the hits surely crossed the million mark. I will not be surprised if we return with Season 3.”

All the best, Rajesh!!
