TV superstar, Kritika Kamra, whose Bollywood crossover film, Mitron, did not really set the Box Office on fire, is not disappointed. “I am glad that I was not written off, rather my work was praised by both critics and the Twitter janta. Here, I admit that we failed to get enough audiences to sample our film, for whoever watched it has not one bad thing to say. Today, marketing and release pattern is very important and I have learnt a lot.”
She does not feel that a false start will hamper her chances of getting juicer flicks down the road. “After having done a fair bit of work (Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge and Prem Ya Paheli – Chandrakanta), I don’t think I am a newcomer who needs validation. Also, it would not be prudent to judge someone on just one success or failure.”
Any chances of coming back to TV? “I prefer films for the simple reasons that content-wise, film scripts are better than TV ones. I have nothing but respect for the small screen medium, which has made me who I am in the first place. Also, I have always been choosy about my tube outings as well. If something really clutter-breaking comes along, I would then mind not coming back to TV.”
“For the moment, apart from films, I am also open to web series which have some great concepts on offer. Till now, I have done a few short films but not a proper series.”
Kritika, we wish you best of luck for your future endeavours.
