You look tailor-made for the role of Om Ramdas Bajpayee. What’s the secret behind Om’s high energy?
Om is a fearless, carefree man who doesn’t meddle in anyone’s life unless provoked. His high energy comes from his passion for life. He feels everything intensely, whether it’s his emotions, relationships, or ambitions. That intensity translates into an infectious enthusiasm, making him instantly likeable. For me, tapping into that energy was key, ensuring it felt authentic on screen. Also, a strong cup of coffee before every scene definitely helped!
Ram Bhavan is about real moments, the small joys, the everyday conflicts, and the aspirations of a family. That relatability makes it all the more endearing.
Did you have to prepare in any specific way to get into Om’s skin?
Absolutely! Om and I are quite different, so I had to put in the effort to understand his world. Since we shot in Prayagraj, I spent time immersing myself in the local culture, observing people, picking up their dialect, and understanding their way of life. Rahul sir also wanted Om to carry a certain Salman Khan-like attitude, so I watched some of his films to grasp that essence while adding my own nuances. Om has so many layers, which made playing him an exciting challenge.
What are your thoughts on the concept of Ram Bhavan?
Ram Bhavan is more than just a house, it’s a universe filled with emotions, conflicts, and relationships that define the story. It represents a quintessential Indian household where love, tradition, and drama coexist. The beauty of the show lies in its ability to capture the charm of everyday life while keeping the audience engaged.
Ram Bhavan’s depth comes from its simple yet powerful storytelling. What do you think?
That’s exactly what makes it special! The simplicity of the narrative allows for a deeper emotional connection. It’s not over-the-top drama, it’s about real moments, the small joys, the everyday conflicts, and the aspirations of a family. That relatability makes it all the more endearing.
Om’s charm lies in his sincerity. He’s confident, has a great sense of humour, and loves deeply.
How has it been working with Samiksha Jaiswal, especially in terms of matching energy and dialogue delivery?
Samiksha is a powerhouse performer! When you have a co-star who gives her 100%, it automatically pushes you to bring your best as well. Our scenes have a natural rhythm, and the energy just flows, making even intense moments fun to shoot.
What do you find most likeable about Om?
His unwavering love for his family and his strong sense of justice. He doesn’t mess with anyone unless someone messes with him, and he carries himself with immense pride. That combination of strength and loyalty makes him a character I truly admire.
Many believe Om has elevated your stature when it comes to female fan following. What’s your take?
I think Om’s charm lies in his sincerity. He’s confident, has a great sense of humour, and loves deeply. If that resonates with the audience, especially the female fans, I can only be grateful for all the love and appreciation coming my way!
Khushbu has been an impressive find, delivering a strong performance as a newcomer. Your thoughts?
Khushbu is a natural! She brings a lot of freshness and innocence to her character, and despite being new to the industry, she’s handling the emotional beats beautifully. It’s always great to see fresh talent shine, and she’s definitely someone to watch out for!
Does playing a real-life, relatable character give an actor an edge?
Definitely! When a character feels real, the audience connects on a much deeper level. It’s not about playing a larger-than-life hero, it’s about being someone they recognize in their own lives. Om is that guy, and I think that’s why people are responding to him so well.
Rahul Tewary delivered a massive hit with Udne Ki Aasha. Do you see Ram Bhavan achieving similar success?
Rahul sir has an incredible sense of storytelling—he knows exactly what clicks with the audience. Ram Bhavan has everything needed to be a blockbuster; strong emotions, relatable characters, and an engaging storyline. I have no doubt it will carve out its own special place in viewers’ hearts.
What message do you have for your fans?
A big, heartfelt thank you! Your love and support mean everything to me. Keep watching, keep loving Om, and I promise there’s a lot more exciting stuff coming your way. Stay tuned!
