Once a guy walked up to me and said, “I love your act in Comedy Nights with Kapil”: Krushna Abhishek

In conversation with talented actor, anchor, comedian Krushna Abhishek

Talent is a dynamic term. It’s in abundance with some while flickers on & off in others. Talent is key for success, most definitely, but what also matters is the ability to push through, be patient and gear up for the long haul.

Krushna Abhishek is a case in study. With a Bollyood lineage (read: baggage) (related to Govinda), Krushna dashed into entertainment space swimming in the opportunity sea.

Krushna did face rocks of challenge, but kudos to his perseverance and hunger to evolve & innovate, he emerged on the other side, all smiles and strong.

Today, he has legions of fans across the globe and his acting prowess flexes muscles across mediums.

Krushna is set again to entertain masses with his ticklish repartees as the host of India Banega Manch on Colors. At the launch press conference of the show, Indianwikimedia had a hearty conversation with him and here’s documenting the excerpts for the same.

Hello Krushna…to begin with, what made you say yes to the show?

It’s unique, in its real sense. Unique, the term, has become clichéd in media interactions. It’s been used so many times that people don’t tend to believe anymore. However, with India Banega Manch, we have actually created something different.

This has never happened on Indian Television. It’s one of a kind in its real sense.

Continues…

The concept of setting up a studio and doing a reality show has been for a long time now. Imagine a stage on India’s historic places, in between a huge crowd, in scorching heat and performer performing and giving his or her best. You get to witness real time entertainment flavor on India Banega Manch and the experience is riveting. When the makers (BBC Worldwide) described the concept, I got nervous. I had queries like how would we shoot on roads, crowd will gather, local audience will be the judge so how will all this be possible… I had so many questions. But I must say with Colors and BBC, even the impossible is possible.

Do you think Colors provides audience the perfect platform to showcase their talent?

Colors believe in taking risks. Be it Comedy Nights Bachao or Rising Star, every show has had a successfully journey. Colors comes up with unique concepts.

Would you like to comment on the recent fight between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover?

They both are my good friends and they keep fighting. In friendship there are fights and problems. Kapil must have gone overboard, thus Sunil had to take a stand, in my opinion. I don’t know the real story. Had it been a minor issue, Sunil would have moved on. They have a strong working relationship but end of the day, self-respect is above all.

On a lighter note, have you come across any weird fan of yours?

Once a guy walked up to me and said, “I love your act in Comedy Nights with Kapil.”  That was hilarious.

Finally, who according to you is the most popular actor on TV?

Krushna Abhishek, most definitely (smiles).

We wish you good luck for your new journey, Krushna! All the best!
