Being part of Jiji Maa is like going to an acting school everyday – Shubhashish Jha

Shubhashish Jha, the adorable and cuteVidhaan of Star Bharat’s Jiji Maa gets into a conversation with IndianWikiMedia.com

Shubhashish Jha, the talented actor who has excelled in the role of Vidhaan Rawat in Star Bharat’s popular and high-rated show, Jiji Maa looks at this stint as a highly educative one for him.

The Jay Productions show has been winning accolades for its entertaining story line and for Shubhashish, this role has done him wonders.

Says the young lad, “It has been a really good journey for me. I am sure my character will become memorable in the times to come. The character has grown, changed and matured already over a period of time. I have got to portray so many shades and it is a nice feeling.”

Shubhashish loves his character of Vidhaan, as it is completely opposite of what he is in real life. “I am not that outgoing and so happy-go-lucky as Vidhaan is. I am more of an introvert, but playing Vidhaan has given me an opportunity to explore lot of new facets in terms of human behaviour. I love the fact that Vidhaan is so sweet and adorable. When it comes to me, I am more of the thinking guy. So it gets very different when I get into the shoes of my character.”

Calling his show as the ‘under dog’ which has managed to get good rating, Shubhashish claims that, “Jiji Maa has a very good story line, and we are sure of audience holding to us for more entertainment.”

Shubhashish feels that he is a person who would get affected by any character he plays. So he tries his best to get the character out of him, once he is not shooting. “Accepted that the character has meat, but the journey has been really disturbing as I have had to portray various mood swings. The recent depression track was indeed tough to shoot. I have shot very difficult scenes in the last few weeks. So I don’t wish to carry on with the character once I am home. I try my best to stay away from Jiji Maa and my role in personal life. Anything and everything tends to affect me; hence without being in my character, I will want to go back on set as refreshed and enthusiastic as I can everyday.”

He calls his stint in the show as more of a teaching ground where he has got to learn many things. “This set is more special to me, as this is the first time that I have got to be with senior artists, whether it is Pallavi Pradhan, Rajesh Balwani, Rajev Paul etc. Also, our Director Rohit Raj Goyal needs a special mention here. It is like going to an acting school everyday, as I have mentors and coaches on set. And this experience is great.”

The actor refers to his bonding with Director Rohit Raj Goyal as special saying, “I trust my Director completely. I can be as vulnerable as I want with Rohit Sir. I know I am in safe hands. Our Producers Jay Sir and Kinnari Mam are also very encouraging. They make sure to give us feedback whenever they meet us, especially the ones where they feel we did a good job. This enthusiasm and motivation is important for actors, given the rigorous schedule of shoot for dailies.”

Shubhashish who came into the limelight with Qubool Hai feels that he has a long way to go as an actor, and is ready to take up challenging roles.

We wish you luck!!
