Avinesh Rekhi is happy with the superb growth of his Colors show Choti Sarrdaarni (2.6).
“I always credit our writers for penning a very powerful, beautiful and yet different story. Unlike most other shows here we not only have a proper tale which will last for a year, but our scale is equally grand encompassing all characters and not just the leads.”
Agree!
So his show began with 1.4TVR and now might cross 3 at current rate, ask him and he says, “While everybody wants high numbers at the end of the day, we can only put in our best and that that is we have done. It feels nice when your efforts are vindicated like only encouraging the whole team to go a notch higher. Our aim is not to break the chart, but to consistently deliver great content day in and day out. A little dip here and there will hot break our morale as well.”
Coming to his character Sarabjeet Singh Gill he says being a Punjabi, “myself, I understand the nuances of playing a turbaned hero. Like we have recently showed the practice of doing pony before wearing turban) weaved in romance scene, again a first time on desi tv.”
Avinesh is happy to be living a varied flavor in his character and his glad to have been working with great co stars.
“Param, Nimrit and Anita are all great co stars,” he says.
In closing, we ask Avinesh about the recent issue between the producer (Pradeep Kumar) of the show and workers regarding pay, “ I guess the problem between the above parties has been amicably resolved, no wonder things are back to even keel.”
