I am personally a sincere and secure actor: Ali Hassan

Talented actor Ali Hassan who has been living a dream by playing the role of Akhilesh Goenka in Rajan Shahi’s long-running and successful show on Star Plus, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is happy and satisfied with his journey.

Ali has mostly preferred doing challenging negative roles in the past with shows Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Naagin, Sasural Simar Ka, Singhasan Battisi and many more to his credit.

And to get into the role of the family-oriented Akhilesh Goenka has been yet another feather in his cap.

Says Ali, “My journey has been fabulous. DKP is one of the best places to work in. When I joined the show, I was new to their setup. So initially I took some time to understand things, and there was a friction within myself as to how to go about my work. But once that cleared, it has been a great sailing here. The way Rajan Shahi and his team go about their work is really great. And it reflects in the way the entire team works around them. I think Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one of the consistent shows on Indian Television and I can say it without any doubt. Even after so many years, the show is #1 and by a big margin.”

“My character started off on a great note, as the whole track of Akshara dying happened because of my daughter. The Goenka house emerged during this phase. Every individual in the cast gets the needed moment of glory based on the track. That is how it has been. Now, my character is in the thick of things again. I am thankful to the channel and production house and all my fans,” he adds.

On his character and graph he states, “In the present track, there is a rift between the Goenka brothers, Manish (Sachin Tyagi) and Akhilesh played by Ali. “The best part is that there is no negative character in Yeh Rishta. It is all subjective and situational. So even in this drift that the Goenka house is facing, whoever likes my character feels that Akhilesh is right and Manish is wrong. And whoever loves to see Manish in action, feels he is right and Akhilesh is wrong. So no character is actually grey or negative here. There is always anger with hurt with respect to my character. But I am not against the family, or against Kartik or Naira. Akhilesh is not a person who goes out for money. He is just angry with his brother. Eventually, as the story goes, things will be clearer.”

Ali has a warm and friendly nature always. And he does not mince words when he says that he is one of the supportive and friendly actors to work with.

Ask him if he has felt insecure amidst the huge track of Yeh Rishta and he says categorically, “I personally am a very sincere and secure actor. I have been happy with the show and role. I have a problem when I am not being used. The show is doing so well and all characters are getting noticed. So there is nothing to worry at all. The core reason for Yeh Rishta to work is that it is not a single-cell organism. It is a multi-cellular organism; everybody has to work and sacrifice for the organism to live. That is what I have learnt here. If it is not your turn to perform with respect to the track, just wait for your time and be supportive in taking the story forward. If the show runs well and runs long, it is very obvious that everyone will have a part to play.”

Very well-said, Ali!!
