Sapna Thakur gets into a conversation with IWMBuzz.com

Sapna Thakur has been in the limelight for her interesting roles on TV recently.

The girl enthralled audiences as the glamorous and seductive Urmi in Jeet Gayi Toh Piya More (Jay Productions) on Zee TV and then went on to don the role of an avengeful police inspector in the recently aired Maha-Movie of the popular show on Zee TV, Ishq Subhan Allah (Creative Eye).

As we talked to Sapna, we realized that playing a cop came naturally to her. She told us, “I could very well relate to playing an officer as my mother is a police woman in Chandigarh. Also I am a tomboy in real life. So I loved playing a rowdy in uniform.”

Sapna who first came into limelight as an officer in the Akshay Kumar movie, Rowdy Rathore has also donned the uniform in Shapath.

“This cop’s role in Ishq Subhan Allah was very different as she was full of revenge. She was a wife who loved her husband too much. I enjoyed playing Ghazal Mirza. The unit was very warm and the Director and DOP helped me a lot,” she adds.

Sapna who earlier played the role of the seductive girl wooing her own husband’s brother in Jeet Gayi Toh Piya More has always had the penchant for playing the negative roles. “I have grown up watching Komolika on TV. So with my height and look, I do not look innocent. So playing the negative lady comes naturally to me. Jeet Gayi was also a very nice journey for me.”

Sapna is awaiting the release of her Punjabi movie.

In future too, she will want to play roles that are powerful and strong.

Here’s wishing you a great future, Sapna!!
