Porus has been a life changing experience for me: Suhani Dhanki

Suhani Dhanki talks about her journey in Porus, the Sony TV show produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Swastik Productions.

Gorgeous beauty Suhani Dhanki, who enthralled audience as Lachi in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Porus on Sony TV, takes it upon herself to put in that extra effort to look natural and convincing on screen. As Porus makes an exit from TV screens, Suhani shares her experience working for the show and her journey so far.

She says, “Porus has been a life changing experience for me indeed and one of the best experiences too. Audience absolutely loved my character. It was extremely overwhelming and gratifying to receive such a great response from viewers. In any show, a female actress receives more adulation from the opposite sex. However, in this show, with my character Lachi, I have received immense love from young girls. They looked up to the character as an inspiration. Lachi was also a fictional character but Siddharth Sir’s writing made the character look real.”

Talking about Porus’ journey, she shares, “Porus taught me that no challenge is big. A person can overcome any big issue. The only reason I said yes to the role was because it was challenging. Everybody felt that my character was demanding. It was an amazing character.”

When asked about her future project, she avers, “I really want to play a contemporary character. I have played fiction characters on TV. Now, I want to portray real roles on the digital platform. The digital medium is exploring and post TV soaps, I really want to be a part of this platform.”

She further adds, “I really like the web-series Tripling, Little Things and Permanent Roommates. They are simple yet relatable series. I want to work on such projects which are relatable to our life and audience can connect easily.”

Suhani is not okay doing bold scenes on-screen, “I draw a line while playing any character. I feel a feeling or emotion can be expressed without shedding our clothes. However, boldness doesn’t mean shedding clothes. If people see, the character I played had a costume which was revealing but it wasn’t vulgar or exposing. The aesthetic sense behind the character never made it look vulgar. Also I was never feeling awkward or uncomfortable wearing the costume, because there was a purpose behind such a look.”

Well said, Suhani!
