Mugdha Chaphekar the young generation lead of Zee TV’s popular show Kumkum Bhagya has been a revelation in terms of her simplicity and acting prowess.
As the simple and girl-next-door Prachi, she has won the hearts of all her fans. Her passion when it comes to working on her character’s nuances touches our chords.
We at IWMBuzz.com got an opportunity to talk to Mugdha Chaphekar and she talks about her journey in the role of Prachi.
Says Mugdha, “It has been a nice journey in the role of Prachi. I simply love the character. If you all remember, Prachi’s character was introduced as ‘Pragya ki Chhaya’. So Pragya as a character has made Prachi. Pragya has made her daughter like her. Righteous, independent, genuine and brave!!”
On her equation with the cast, Mugdha states, “They are my family, very warm, caring and fun. This happy bunch of people is a blessing.”
Mugdha who is married to actor Ravish Desai is happy to be a working wife. “There is nothing like juggling between work and home. If you are sorted, so is life. I am blessed with a wonderful family who is supportive and loving.”
For Mugdha, hubby Ravish has always been her biggest critic. “I have always believed that he is a better actor than I am. If he does not like a scene I do, he will tell me upfront. In fact, I have learned a lot from him and he has a major share in the good habits that I have inculcated as an actor.”
Ask her about the growth of her character and Mugdha quickly quips, “Prachi as a character has wonderfully grown from a simple small-town girl to an independent one, yet having the same innocence and love she had in her heart. All the good things she has imbibed have come from her mother. I feel Prachi is a relatable character to a lot of girls.”
On working with Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia, Mugdha avers, “Shabir and Sriti are the heart and soul of the show. They are beautiful people. They have welcomed the new cast with so much love. We all hang out together and whenever all of us are shooting, you will often find us all in one room laughing and eating.”
Mugdha, all the very best for the next phase in Kumkum Bhagya!!
