What does a ‘woman of today’ aspire for in the given time that we are living in?

The women of today want to acquire equality and reverence in society. All said and done, it is a male-dominated society. I am not saying that we should dominate anyone. No, I am not a feminist. I believe in equality.

What is the significance of Women’s Day to you?

Every day is a Women’s Day for me. If you want to celebrate it, we have to celebrate the lives of a lot of females who have made a difference in society like Jhansi Ki Rani, Sarojini Naidu etc.

Pushpa Impossible shows Pushpa as a powerful force, capable of dealing with life turmoils. How has this show inspired you?

The show has inspired me a lot. Such kinds of shows are not always made. The kind of work we do as a team is different. The show is in a different league, it is operated on a different orbit. Pushpa Impossible satisfies the craving I have as an actor. It has inspired me to take life as it comes.

Karuna Pandey is as strong as Pushpa, happy as Pushpa, and childlike as Pushpa.

How do you define Karuna Pandey when it comes to her strength in tackling life’s problems?

Karuna is not much different when compared to Pushpa. As Pushpa, Karuna is also strong enough to fight the life discrepancies. Human beings are vulnerable, and so am I. I know how to handle my vulnerabilities, I know how to handle my emotional breakdowns and know how to handle the people around me if required. So Karuna is as strong as Pushpa, happy as Pushpa, childlike as Pushpa.

What do you intend to do to society as a woman with a celebrity status?

I am an animal worker. From feeding and taking care of their medical necessities, I handle the well-being of animals. I don’t run any NGO. I am an individual working towards the betterment of animals. I have a few good people working with me. My intention towards society is to bring changes in the laws of animals. To make them stricter and harder, so that people who torture animals, will think at least 100 times before doing anything bad to them. I would use my celebrity status to inspire people to love animals, to coexist with them, and to have reverence for them. If you cannot pour your heart and soul into animals, you can have a neutral approach that you do not hate or love.
