Uttaran actress Tina Dutta took everyone by surprise as she made her digital debut with critically acclaimed Naxalbari which released last weekend.
The petite actress became a household name portraying Ichha & became the most sought after television actress at the time. However, Tina has always been selective about the kind of work she’s done & believes on quality over quantity.
Tina made her debut in the digital space playing a rather grey shade in Naxalbari & stood out from an ensemble cast. In a time, where TV actors are eyeing for web series & more often than not are overtly critical about the content on television; Tina has something different to share, ‘ They are both two different mediums of entertainment and while television has been a source of entertainment for decades, web-series as a form of content has worked extremely well in attracting the youth. the biggest differentiating factor would be that there are no constraints when it comes to the content of web-series as it does over films and televisions. However, having said that there still is an audience for television and the web has given them another option to choose from.’
‘I am here, primarily because of television & the kind of reach it has given us actors is humongous. People from the remotest of locations in the country recognise Television actors. I respect the medium & would really not want to compare it with web space. Every show on each platform has its own charm & people must view it as per their discretion & the kind of content they would like to consume, without taking anything too personally. I believe in never say never. There are many interesting concepts brought on television for their target audience just as it is on digital platforms. Everyone’s happy here,’ she adds.
