Bubbly actress Asha Negi, who rose to fame with Pavitra Rishta, says she was skeptical to take up a comedy show, but beau Rithvik Dhanjani supported the decision a lot.
She shares, “As an actor, we too have a saturation point wherein we want to do something different and not the same thing. Initially, I was skeptical about doing a stand-up comedy show. I was not confident about it. But Rithvik motivated and encouraged me to take up this show. My friends too feel that I am funny and can make people laungh. I just want to be myself and my real side will make audience go bonkers.”
Ask her when audience will see her back on-screen with a fiction show, and she avers, “I have been very choosy about the shows. It’s not that I only want to do non-fiction shows. I would love to be part of a fiction drama but it should be unique and interesting. The types of shows that I have already done in my past, I don’t want to repeat them. I think people are waiting to see me and Rithvik on-screen in a fiction show, but we both are waiting for a right project.”
Talking about comedy genre, she avers, “Comedy is really difficult for me. I am amazing with punches but my timings are very bad. I feel through this show I will definitely learn from my colleagues who are masters in comedy and get my comedy timings perfect.”
She further adds, “If Rithvik enters this show, he will be troubled by all of us. Me, Ravi and Karan will be on one side and he will be on the other. He will be bashed by all of us and it will be fun for the audience to watch.”
Finally Asha feels that audience has loved and supported her at every step of her career. This makes her all the more confident that she will be loved in her new show too.
Good luck girl!
