Rohit Shetty is the backbone of Khatron Ki Khiladi 10 - Amruta Khanvilkar

Amruta Khanvilkar, last seen in  Mohit Suri directed Malang, is happy that age no longer restricts female actor in B  Town.

“Did Alia Bhatt play a more mature woman in  Raazi? The old dogmas have disappeared, and women can do whatever they want. Talent powerhouses like Shilpa Shetty,  Malaika Arora Khan and Beyonce are rocking the world at forty. I liked my stint in Malang with Anil Kapoor  Kunal Khemu and Aditya  Roy  Kapur.  Also, the character had different shades. First, Teresa appeared as someone who was cheating on her husband. But in reality, she was a good catholic girl (on-screen husband was impotent).  It always feels nice to be a part of ensemble projects which do well. As a corollary, more performance-oriented roles are coming my way. Something similar happened after Raazi as well.,” says Amruta with a smile to IWMBuzz.com.

Looking ahead, she has two more Marathi films.

Shifting gears to her TV show,  Khatron Ke Khiladi (KKK) 10, Amruta says, “Whoever gets this chance to face their fears in the eye must take it up.  I was petrified of heights yet took the plunge. I had a great time in Bulgaria with fellow KKK contestants like Karan Patel, Tejasswi Prakash, and Karishma Tanna, etc. As for host Rohit Shetty goes, he seems to gell very well with Marathi artists we would talk in the same lingo. Being the face of film stunts in India, Rohit is the backbone of the show.  I don’t think KKK would have survived without him. He is also so motivating.”

Looking ahead, Amruta is open to more reality shows sans Bigg Boss. She had won Nach Baliye 7  along with her husband Himmanshoo A. Malhotra.

Unlike many other TV and film artists, Amruta is not very gung-ho about the web. “It is very bold, and I have my inhibitions.” Her only web show so far has been Damaged on Hungama Play for which she bagged the coveted MTV IWMBuzz Digital Awards.
