Veteran actress Jayati Bhatia is back on screen with Sasural Simar Ka season 2 on Colors. The talented thespian plays the role of Geetanjali Devi. Geetanjali Devi belongs to the old school of thought and is seeking an unambitious girl for her grandson Aarav (played by Avinash Mukherjee). She gives the responsibility to Badi Simar (Dipika Kakar) to scout for a suitable match and her quest leads her to Choti Simar (Radhika Muthukumar), who is ideal yet different from Geetanjali Devi’s expectations.
Talking about her role in the show, Jayati said, “Sasural Simar Ka 2 is the story of this generation. In this season, I will be essaying the role of Mataji’s sister Geetanjali Devi. Similar to Mataji, she is also a matriarch of the family and is looking for an ideal girl for her grandson. She believes that if a girl will focus on her dreams then she won’t be able to give time to her family and the family will suffer. This will be the topic of conflict in the entire journey of season 2.”
Jayati shared her fond memories from season 1 and the experience of working with Dipika Kakar again, she mentioned, “I am looking forward to working with Dipika once again. There are a lot of moments in season 2 which will remind viewers of season 1. I and Dipika, we miss season one’s every moment. The show is very close to my heart. Along with bonding with the new characters, I miss every character from the previous season.”
When asked about her thoughts on her real-life ideal bahu, she added, “I will bring a bahu who is mixer of Dipika Kakar and Radhika Muthukumar. Dipika is very happy in her family and she takes her family along with her. When I met Radhika for the first time, she told me that she is building a new house and she wants that her mother-in-law should stay with her. I feel proud of both of them. They have proved that you can achieve your dreams by being there with your families. They both are 2021’s empowered girls.”
