In the Hindi comedic television series Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, Saumya Tandon played the role of Anita Mishra, for whom she is well known. She has a long history of hosting TV programmes, such as Dance India Dance, the Bournvita Quiz Contest, and Entertainment Ki Raat.
On November 3, 1984, Tandon was born in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She attended St. Mary’s Convent School after the family relocated to Ujjain. B.G. Tandon, her father, is a writer and a former professor at a school in Ujjain.
Early in her career, Saumya Tandon began taking on modelling tasks. In 2006, she finished as the “Femina Cover Girl First Runner Up.” In 2008, she also had a worldwide project appearance in the Afghan serial Khushi, where she played the principal role of an Afghan woman doctor. She co-hosted Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout (based on the Wipeout format) alongside Shah Rukh Khan in 2011. She presented Dance India Dance for three seasons, for which she was also recognized with the Best Anchor honor. For three seasons, she co-hosted the Bournvita Quiz Contest with Derek O’Brien. She portrayed Roop, Kareena’s character’s sister, in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met, which also starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. She also served as the three-season host of LG Mallika-e-Kitchen.
