Popular Sony TV dance show Super Dancer is back with the same judges and yes, same hosts. We caught up with anchor Rithvik Dhanjani at the launch presser and he says, “Super Dancer 1 was a revelation, it has raised the bar about how kids can perform. The fact that we topped the chart throughout first season proves the whole country was watching us, we are coming back now with even better talent. Just looking at them perform, makes we wonder what we were doing at that age, and what stuff do they eat or drink?”
Here Rithvik, who loves to host (India’s Best Dramebaaz 1-2 and Nach Baliye 7) admits , “There is huge lot of untapped talent just waiting to be discovered. Sadly, due to obvious logistical reasons, we can’t reach all corners of our vast land. And hence this time around we have gone for audition to cities which were untouched last time.”
What different stuff will you bring to the table this time around? “Well, given the participations of kids there is not much space to play around with edgier stuff. So it will be more or less what you saw last time around. The only major difference would be my interactions with the talented twelve choreographers, I have worked with them at some or the other stage of my life so know their journeys as well.”
Asked about reaction of partner Asha Negi, he says, “She is my best sounding board, while feeling proud and appreciating my good stuff, she is brutally honest about where she feels I have gone wrong as well. Normally others can’t tell you on the face, for no one has the liberty to show you the mirror.”
Looking ahead, he is open to getting back to fiction (last seen in Yeh Hai Aashiqui), “But it will really have to be something interesting. You just can’t bring any script to me, thinking it might work, but makes no sense. I am open to doing anything e.g. becoming a girl, but it should be justified by the script,” says the master performer who gained with Pavitra Rishta.
He further states: “I love hosting for it is no tension work, and I can let my hair down as well. You also get to hobnob with good people, plus the monies on offer are great as well.”
In closing we ask him about his stint in Khatron Ke Khiladi where he is among the finalists. “It was a life altering journey, I will never forget it.”
We wish him all the luck and success with Super Dancer.
