When it comes to weddings—whether elaborate or simple—actress Bhawana Aneja believes in keeping it personal. Known for her roles in films like Kavan, Aarambam, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, and Chandramukhi 2, Bhawana has also appeared in the web series Raisinghani vs. Raisinghani and TV shows such as Kumkum Bhagya, Dheere Dheere Se, and Shrimad Ramayan. She will soon be seen in the upcoming show Deewaniyat on Star Plus. The actress feels that sharing wedding pictures and videos on social media is ultimately a personal choice.

“Sharing your wedding on social media is joyful, but it has changed the way people perceive weddings. It has set unrealistic standards for many and can create pressure to showcase a perfect event,” she says.

According to statistics, there will be around 48 lakh marriages in India in the next 60 days. Commenting on this, she adds, “That’s a huge number, but we should all be happy because it means 96 lakh people have found their partner for life!”

Regarding the trend of taking inspiration from celebrity weddings, she says, “While you can take inspiration from celebrity weddings, it’s essential to be happy with what you arrange. At the end of the day, it’s your marriage. Indian weddings used to be simpler and more intimate, but now they have become more elaborate. While I prefer a more intimate wedding, the complexity reflects our cultural richness and creativity.”

She continues, “I loved Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding. It was magical, with a fusion of cultures and stunning settings. The celebrations were colorful, joyful, and vibrant. I also admire celebrities who choose simpler weddings, as it shows they are comfortable with their choice. Celebrating your big day in the way you want is always the right and most commendable thing to do.”

Coming to Deewaniyat, the show in which Bhawana will be seen, she will play the mother to Paayal, (Kritika Singh Yadav). Geeta Malik, her character will be a traditional Haryanvi woman who will be loving and caring towards her family.
