Shruti Gholap, who is seen as Sumati in Zee TV’s Jamai No. 1, which is produced by Studio LSD, shares that the festival of Makar Sankranti brings back her childhood memories that she enjoyed with her father.
She says, “Makar Sankranti holds a very special place in my heart as it brings back cherished childhood memories with my dad. It was a festival we celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm, and it always felt like a time of joy and togetherness.”
“In Baroda, we celebrated Makar Sankranti with full enthusiasm. It was all about kite flying, enjoying delicacies, and spending time with loved ones. However, since moving to Mumbai, I haven’t been able to enjoy the festival as much due to work commitments, which are a part and parcel of my life now,” she adds.
This year she is shooting for her show and hence shares that there won’t be a grand celebration. She says, “However, I plan to celebrate for myself, cherishing the memories of past festivals and the time spent with my dad.”
Kite flying was a big part of Shruti’s Makar Sankranti celebrations, and she enjoyed it to the fullest. She adds, “One of my most special memories is flying kites with my dad—it’s a memory I hold very dear. My dad passed away nine years ago, but those moments with him during Makar Sankranti are unforgettable.”
As for delicacies, she loves undhiyu, jalebi, fafda, and chikki during Makar Sankranti. “These are my go-to festival treats,” she says.
Any wish during the festival? “I wish for happiness, positivity, and success for everyone, and I hope the festival brings joy and togetherness to all,” Shruti ends.
