Shubhaarambh is good platform for me to work on my skills and excel as an actor: Akshit Sukhija

Akshit Sukhija who essays the lead role of Raja in Colors’ Shubhaarambh produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions is enjoying his stint in the show.

Says Akshit who was earlier seen in Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka, “The journey has been really amazing. I can say that I am about 40% similar to Raja. Other than that, I am very different from him. It has been a challenge for me to play this character. First of all, the extent of innocence and subdued nature that Raja has is not in me. I am a straight-forward person but I cannot always bow down to everyone around me.”

Ask him about his forte as an actor and he is quick to say, “I have always felt that I am very comfortable in emotional sequences. I enjoyed them when I was doing Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka too. That was the time when I explored myself in this emotion. Also, the small sequence in Shubhaarambh where I had to go a bit negative was enjoyable.”

Akshit is an extrovert in real life unlike Raja in the show. “It is very easy for anyone to brainwash Raja. But Akshit in real life can never be fooled that way.”

With Mahima Makwana, Akshit Sukhija’s chemistry is coming good. “When we met each other, we were very new to each other. We have now become good friends, and gel well to work together.”

Akshit is happy that his role in Shashi Sumeet Productions show Shubhaarambh has already shown a good graph. “Raja was a total family man before he met Rani. Now after meeting her, he started to open up a bit. And now after marriage, he is quite an outgoing personality. He has started to raise his voice for the right things. He has garnered quite a lot of confidence and is using his brains too to understand what is right and wrong. In the future, he will grow stronger as a character.”

The best part of Raja that Akshit likes is the man’s goodness and support that he gives others. “In today’s time, it is very difficult to stand for others, which Raja does all the time.”

Ask him about the TRP being just above average and not peaking high, and he states, “TRP is what matters at the end of the day. But we as actors are doing our job with all sincerity. Viewers are being kept engaged and engrossed in the drama element in the show. As of now, we are very new in the competition race. So there is a long way to go. And for me, TRP is not the main factor. Of course, TRP is important but I feel that I need to work on my skills and make my career. That’s my motive as of now.”

Best of luck, Akshit!!
