Silsila has been getting close to two million views per episode: Kinshuk Mahajan

Kinshuk Mahajan who is part of the Colors show Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka which will shift to the digital platform of Viacom, Voot denies any cut in budgets. “We were told by the production house (Sphereorigin) that the terms and conditions we had signed for TV will continue and plus there will be no change in story line.”

Interestingly it was reported that the other Colors show Bepannaah which like Silsila was in TRP doldrums might move to Voot, but apparently both the leads (Jennifer Winget and Harshad Chopda) declined the offer, possibly due to budgetary issue and other TV V/s web pecking order.  Hence the Colors mandarin decided to axe this thriller and move only the extra marital saga Silsila to Voot.

When asked about the same to Kinshsuk, he says, “I am no one to comment on what did happen and what did not.”

“Colors made a smart decision to move from broadcast to digital, for we were getting close to 2 million views per episode which was better than the most web originals,” says Kinshuk who has earliar done shows like Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai, Chand Chupa Badal Mei and Tum Aise Hi Rehna.

Will the story get more bolder now given that you are no longer restricted by channel S& P (In house censors), he states, “I don’t know how the story will pan out but yes the romance between Kunal (Shakti Arora), Mauli (Aditi Sharma) and my character, Ishaan will become more mature..”

When asked about low ratings, he quips, “We were doing decent but the time slot change did hamper. Towards the end, we would air as late as 11.15 PM. No wonder the North based fans missed the show. But yes, they would check out the repeats, which too boasted of good numbers. Also last but not the least, rating is not the only deciding factor; we were also doing well on the all-important time spent bracket as well.”

Best of luck to you, Kinshuk!!
