Actress Chhavi Pandey who has entered the Zee TV show Bas Itna Sa Khwaab as Tamannah, the obsessive lover of Shikhar Trivedi, has heightened the drama with the love triangle plot. Chhavi who has very elegantly balanced her positive and negative roles on television, is happy that she has got this opportunity to portray the role of Tamannah, who is genuinely in love with Shikhar Trivedi and can do anything to be in his life.

Talking about the extramarital affair plot that has been opened up in the show, Chhavi shares, “Bas Itna Sa Khwaab has a beautiful concept, which sees the woman of the house having the intention to meet the demands of the family and help her husband, by contributing in a small way. Every show introduces new characters or twists to spice up the drama quotient. This new angle of Tamannah’s entry has provided just that. Tamannah is an interesting character to watch, and her actions will build up more drama. She is a character who has been brought in to draw the viewers’ attention. It has been a good journey so far.”

Ask Chhavi how different Tamannah is from Maya of Anupamaa, and Chhavi tells us, “First of all, Maya’s was a one-sided love always in Anupamaa. When she fell in love with Anuj, Anuj never loved her. In Bas Itna Sa Khwaab, Shikhar Trivedi loves Tamannah as much as she loves him. Anupamaa never had this angle. So I will say that both these characters are beautiful in their way.”

Talking about Tamannah, Chhavi explains, “Tamannah’s actions are justified as she genuinely loves Shikhar. Full marks to the team as they have presented the character of Tamannah very beautifully.”

“The best part is that she is truly in love with the man and wants him in her life. She has varied layers within her. Tamannah gives me a different opportunity to showcase the varied ranges that can be present in a character. I have done a lot of main lead protagonist roles. But when you are given a negative role to portray, there comes with it the freedom to play around it and make it your own. This is my challenge with Tamannah being given to me,” adds Chhavi.

Ask her whether she is apprehensive of being typecast in the baddie roles, and she says, “Soon after I was done with Anupamaa, I picked up the role of a protagonist in the show Purnima. She was a simple, loving and caring village belle. So yes, I have been playing the main roles mostly. But being an actor, exploring varied types of roles is a part of the journey. It gives an actor a good platform to test the range of roles that he/she can take up. It comes as a challenge to prove one’s versatility.”
