Dipika Kakar, who ruled the screen as Simar, is all set to make a comeback with Star Plus’ thriller drama Qayamat Ki Raat (Balaji Telefilms).
With Sasural Simar Ka, Dipika was loved by the audience. Now, she will be seen enacting the role of Suhasini in the above mentioned series.
Talking about the show, she says, “I am playing the role of Suhasini. It is a very simple and relatable character. She is happily married. Later, she reaches the temple and from there her story starts. Her journey of protecting her family begins in an exciting manner. Balaji Telefilms was one of the biggest reasons why I instantly agreed to do the show. As a teenager, I was a huge fan of K- series. I have watched them all. I was really glad as I got a chance to work with Ekta ma’am.”
She further adds, “When we work on something, be as an actor or producer, we wish that audience love our show as we work hard on it. The best part is that quality is very high of this show and we have shot in real locations. The most difficult aspect of being part of this genre is that you have to believe in things which are not real and work convincingly. I feel if I would not be convinced with the role, I won’t be able to convince my audience. And one more thing is that these kinds of shows are physically very tiring.”
Dipika feels that Simar was a game changer for her. She quips, “I played Simar for five years and no one can take that away from me. Every actor is known by his one popular character and without any doubt for me, it is Simar.”
When asked whether husband Shoaib Ibrahim is her lucky charm, she avers, “Of course, Shoaib is the lucky charm of my life and I always say that. Before the promo, he saw me at the shoot and was happy for me. I am scared of spooky things, so he even checked on me if I not scared about the on-set environment. But now, it is a normal thing as I shoot every day.”
While Dipika was not working, she was enjoying her home-maker life. “I was enjoying the typical house wife life. I am a complete home-maker, so I was very happy,” ends the actress.
Good going girl!
