Actor Yogendra Vikram Singh is at ease playing the flawed lead having an extramarital affair, in Zee TV’s show Bas Itna Sa Khwaab. The show produced by Zee Studios has Yogendra playing the role of Shikhar Trivedi, who, despite being married to Avani Trivedi (Rajashree Thakur), is in love with Tamanna (Chhavi Pandey). On the occasion of Shaheed Diwas, the actor got into deep thoughts, remembering the sacrifices done by freedom fighters for our country.

Shaheed Diwas, or Martyrs’ Day, is a tribute to the bravery and devotion of India’s freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the nation’s independence. On March 23, 1931 – three revolutionary freedom fighters, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, all in their early twenties, were hanged in the Lahore jail. The three were sentenced to death by the British colonial rulers.

He said, “Shaheed Diwas is a day for deep reflection on the vision and sacrifices of our freedom fighters. Their stories of selflessness and unwavering conviction remind us of the true meaning of courage. Since childhood, I have heard my father speak about these heroes and their dedication to protecting our country. Their bravery continues to inspire me to stand up for what is right, even in the face of adversity. I believe the best way to honour their legacy is by upholding the values they fought for—equality, justice, and unity.”
