The clash of beliefs is the key to Ek Aastha success: Kanwar Dhillon

Kanwar Dhillon is satisfied with the progress of his new Star  Plus show Ek Aastha Aisi Bhee so far. “It is a different show in the sense that it keeps God in the centre stage (lead female  character is an atheist in very traditional family) without hurting religious  sentiments while not over playing them as well.  The clash of beliefs of the two main protagonists (me and her) is what keeps the viewers hooked.  We are doing well keeping in mind the afternoon slot, had we got a prime time slot, we would have rated much better,” says the talented actor.

Coming to his personal religious beliefs, Kanwar shares, “Although I believe in God, I am not much of a temple visitor.  I have a one at home and touch the foot of the deity every day before leaving for work.”

What do you feel about your co star? “Tina Ann Philip is a nice girl, it took her a little while to understand the workings of the TV world. I helped her on her way as I have been around for a while now. She is doing well and is being liked and loved by the audiences.  Our jodi is also getting due  recognition, touch wood, so far so good .”

Kanwar, who debuted back in 2013 with the Buddy Project, has been very lucky to have done different shows, “This is my first out& out family drama as a lead. My first main lead was Do Dil Ek Jaan, but it shut down within few months of my entry, despite good ratings, so that was a different story. So in a way Hum Hai Na (was first noticed here) and Piya Rangrez set me up for my present show which is biggest of them all.”

We wish him all the luck and success.
