Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment S2 has started really well with a high TRP of 1.9! How do you feel about this great response?
This is a very happy moment for us! It feels great that Laughter Chefs Season 2 has started with a bang, achieving a TRP of 1.9, which is amazing. I believe this success is a collective effort. The credit doesn’t go to just one person—it belongs to everyone involved in the show. It’s not just about the actors; it’s about the entire team—the lights department, the cameramen, the editors, the directors, and those who guide us while we shoot. All these efforts together have created a beautiful show, and the response from the audience has been fantastic. We all feel a sense of responsibility now to consistently deliver great content and keep winning people’s hearts. The love we are receiving motivates us to continue giving our best. The audience has even given us the title of “Therapists,” and we hope to live up to it every day!
Elvish Yadav is doing a great job in his own style. Abdu is doing an amazing job. Abhishek and Samarth are putting in their best efforts, trying to cook as well as they can with their skills and understanding. Rubina Dilaik is presenting herself beautifully on the show and making a strong impact.
Laughter Chefs 2 started with great competition from a celebrity chef show on a different channel. What do you have to say about that?
I think people who are comparing Laughter Chefs and MasterChef are not looking at it the right way. Both shows are completely different and have their own space. MasterChef is a serious cooking show where contestants compete with real dedication to cooking. It follows a large-scale format and has its own strong fan base. On the other hand, Laughter Chefs is a light-hearted show where cooking happens with a lot of fun, laughter, and entertainment. Sometimes food burns, sometimes things go wrong, and everything is shown as it is. So, comparing the two wouldn’t be fair—both shows have their own uniqueness.
But what makes me really happy is that food television is once again in the spotlight. Right now, two major cooking shows are running, both highlighting the title of “chef.” Apart from these, there are many other food and restaurant-related shows on television. This is a great thing for the hospitality industry because it shows that many new opportunities are opening up for chefs.
What do you think makes this season special compared to the previous one?
I think what makes this season special is that we have already set a benchmark for ourselves. So, for those of us who were part of the show from the beginning, it became a big responsibility to guide the new members, help them blend in, and make them understand the show’s format. All of us who have been here from the start felt this responsibility deeply. And I believe, in the upcoming episodes, you will see how we have supported and integrated everyone into the show.
Are there any contestants who have surprised you with their cooking or their humour?
The contestants are definitely interesting—there are many unique and talented participants in the show.
Take Abdu, for example. He is not from India, but he is doing an amazing job. He is showing a great interest in cooking while also entertaining everyone with his comedy. His comic timing is well-known, and some of his punchlines are fantastic.
Elvish Yadav is doing a great job in his own style. His Haryanvi tone adds a special touch, and people are enjoying it. His fan following is very strong.
Then we have two new boys, Abhishek and Samarth. They are putting in their best efforts, trying to cook as well as they can with their skills and understanding.
Mannara has brought her cuteness to the show, which adds a charming element. And Rubina, known for her literary skills, love for the Hindi language, and passion for cooking, is presenting herself beautifully on the show and making a strong impact.
Overall, everyone is doing a fantastic job, and each contestant is adding something special to the show!
What are your expectations from this season? Do you think it will be bigger than the last one?
Honestly, I don’t keep any expectations. Whenever I do a show, my only focus is on how I can give my best performance and touch people’s hearts once again.
Years ago, I created a kind of revolution with Namak Shamak. If you look at history, there are two people who created a revolution around salt—one was Mahatma Gandhi, who started India’s freedom struggle, and the other was me. I see myself as part of a revolution too, but in a different way—I created a revolution that spread happiness in kitchens and brought families together. That, in itself, is a big achievement, and I did it years ago.
Whenever I do a show, I never think about what I will personally gain from it or what I should expect. My only goal is to give my 100%, and that’s exactly what I keep doing.
Being a chef yourself, how do you balance fun and food on the show?
I feel that in Laughter Chefs, maintaining a balance between comedy and cooking is very important. I see it as a scale that needs to be equally balanced. Comedy has its place, and cooking has its own importance.
We don’t want people to just laugh and not learn anything about cooking. It’s important that they understand the dishes we prepare and gain knowledge about food. That’s why I make sure to explain things to them and guide them in the right way.
When it comes to comic timing, everyone has their own style. I have my way of delivering comedy, Krishna Ji has his own, and he is already a champion at it. Sudesh Ji and Bharti Ji are also masters in their comic timing. These amazing artists are known for their humor, but at the same time, they also cook well. Our goal is to create a show where both cooking and comedy shine equally.
