Actress Nishi Saxena who has made a heart-warming entry into Star Plus’ Anupamaa in the role of the rape victim Dimple thanks her stars for bagging this special role in the popular show.
Nishi who has been seen in TV shows like Tera Yaar Hoon Main, RadhaKrishn, Nima Denzongpa and Dil Maange More, is grateful for the golden advice that the maker of Anupamaa, Rajan Shahi gave her when she was selected for the role.
Says Nishi, “When I met Rajan Shahi Sir, he told me that he was not looking for the actor in me, but the performer in me. I am highly obliged and thankful to Rajan Sir for giving me this role. I thank him profusely for the trust he placed in me. He told me that I had to come up with a performance that will surprise everyone.”
And certainly, this new track in Anupamaa, especially the power-packed portrayal coming from Nishi has indeed surprised one and all!!
Talking about this big opportunity, Nishi goes on to say, “When I got this offer from Anupamaa, I told myself that I had to do it. When I got to know that I was to play a rape victim who shows her resilient fightback and starts a new life, I knew I have to do it. From the first scene, I knew what I was getting into. The character required a lot of performance. It was a big challenge for me. And to shoot the scene where my character got raped, on the very first day of shoot, was something special. The best part was that since I had no time to prepare, I went with the flow. All the actors and crew members on the set were so very supportive that the experience was not difficult to shoot.”
Nishi thanks her stars to be sharing screen space with Rupali Ganguly. “I knew it was a big responsibility to match up with Rupali Ma’am’s calibre in my portrayal. It has been a dream come true moment for me to share screen space with her. She is so down-to-earth and helpful as an actor. I have learned so much from her in the last few days.”
Nishi talks about certain sequences demanding the best from her. “I cried for a few sequences during the shoot. The hospital scene between me and Rupali Ma’am was one scene where I cried while shooting for it. The dance sequence between us was so emotional that I cried for real while shooting it. I motivate myself every day with the golden advice that Rajan Sir gave me. I am happy with the outcome and look forward to giving my best to the show and my role.”
Best of luck, Nishi!!
