Actress Vahbiz Dorabjee, who was recently seen in the Star Plus show Deewaniyat, is not an avid book reader but believes that this habit of book reading can inspire young minds to carve an intellectual future for themselves.
Talking about her interest in reading books, she says, “I am an average book reader. But I own some really good books. I have a lot of genres, and I like reading the spiritual books. When I was in school, I liked the book Chicken Soup For The Soul. That is one of my favourite books even now. There are so many inspirational stories in that.”
Going in-depth on the other kinds of books that she likes, Vahbiz states, “I know it might sound silly, but I have been a lot into horoscopes from the time of my college. One of my favourite books is Linda Goodman’s, and I still own that book and it is always there with me. I love reading about horoscopes.”
Talking about the habit in totality, the actress avers, “I donated a whole lot of books recently that were with me. I think one should develop the habit of reading. It is a very healthy habit. It opens up so many avenues in your life, reading books is so informative.”
Ask her about her fun idea to celebrate World Book Day and she recounts her experience of the past. “This occasion actually takes me back to a lot of memories with my friends. When we were younger, we had this habit of going to Crossword, sitting there and reading books. At that time, that was an activity that teenagers used to do. That should be encouraged again. It is nice to go to a bookstore with friends and chill. When I was young, I was part of the Pune Club, I used to borrow books to read.”
