Abhishek Singh, the lead star of Star Plus show Dadi Amma… Dadi Amma Maan Jaao!, has no clue as to why the show has failed to rate big.
“At first, when we started, we thought we had a huge hit on our hands based on good channel feedback and reviews. We were happy with the output. “But alas, it did not click. Maybe we could not face off with a big show like Choti Sarrdaarni, or we did not get the much-needed word of mouth push.
Given the low numbers, it will not be surprised if the show wraps up in mid-May, as is being reported.
“Had we got ratings, even our limited show too might have got a second lease of life like Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka. There is a certain degree of disappointment. I am sure down the road people will realize that they missed out on a good show. All said and done; I enjoyed myself. You won’t get better makers like Rajshri.”
Dadi Amma is Abhishek‘s first lead, before his he had done shows like Splitvisilla 9, Bani Ishq Da Kalma and Ishqbaaaz.
“The best part was that my character had grown. Shlok first started as an innocent lover, but later, transforms into a mature guy who tries to balance his lady love’s concerns without hurting his family’s’ interests. I must credit my director Vikram Ghai for guiding me along.”
In closing, Abhishek was full of praise for his co-star Sheen Dass. “This very talented actor raises the bar so much with her performance that you too have to up your game to match up.”
