Sunayana Fozdar of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah believes that unity in prayers will yield big results. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Sunayana prays that the obstacles that we are facing in the Nation be warded off soon.
Talking about her favorite Ganesh Chaturthi moment, Sunayana states, “The feeling of praying in unity, the colourful vibe all over and positivity in the environment…welcoming Bappa with so much zest and enthusiasm makes us forget all our worries…When families Unite to pray in times like these, it is truly the essence of our Indian culture.”
Ask her about the grandeur of Ganesh Chaturthi at her place, and she quips, “We try to do Aarti together. Before there used to be friends and family coming over, but now being very careful with this pandemic, we have kept it a very private occasion. Of course, welcoming our eco-friendly Ganpati which is actually full of seeds and becomes a plant after immersion …that’s something I would encourage all to do too!”
“I want to encourage the thought of giving to the less fortunate. With the recent pandemic so many can barely afford survival, so instead of spending lavishly on so many decorations or huge Ganpati idols that may even pollute our environment, let’s spend that money on giving the needy their basics like groceries, medical help etc…That’s what I am doing, not just on Ganesh Chaturthi but other occasions as well.”
“My prayers always remain the same…More than asking for something I thank Bappa every year because he always gives me more than I could think of asking for. His blessings and love are unconditional.”
On the amazing food delicacies she loves to have during the festival, Sunayana reveals, “I have a major sweet tooth …and I personally don’t diet as such but eat in moderation. So modak, puran poli, kheer are always my favourites!”
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi, to all our readers!!
