Young and talented actress Neha Rana is playing the antagonist named Riya in Sony TV’s new-age romantic entertainer – Ishk Par Zor Nahi. Ahaan’s girlfriend Riya was introduced in the show to add another dramatic twist in Ahaan and Ishqi’s love-hate relationship.

Neha has been successful in winning audiences’ love with her acting chops. Initially, she entered as a positive character but gradually it turned grey. In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Neha spoke in length about her role, appreciation from fans and challenges.

How has the journey been with the show so far?

It has been an amazing experience. I think it’s been a roller coaster of fun and learning. I have had a blast playing Riya so far. Initially, I was nervous as I joined the show after three months as a new entry. I was worried whether I would be accepted well. However, I got immense support from my amazing crew and supporting cast. Additionally, the love I am getting from my fans is heart-warming.

Do you fear getting typecast after playing a negative character?

To be very honest, initially, I had no idea that my character would be turning negative. It took me four days to digest the fact that I will be essaying a grey shade now. Later, my director explained that Riya is not a bad girl and her actions are justified. I got convinced however, it was a bit challenging for me. Few fans are praising me and loving my act. However, the loyal fan base of the show feels bad for the lead couple and sends messages to me. But I take it in a positive way.

What do you enjoy playing: a negative or positive role?

I was prepared for the positive part but when I encountered the grey shade, it was challenging. However, now I started enjoying it. I feel the positive character is easy to essay as you are playing yourself on-screen but when it comes to being negative, you have to think out of the box. The graph of the character changed drastically but I enjoyed playing both shades.

How is your working experience with the cast?

I shot in Mumbai for only 2 days then we went to Dui when the lockdown was announced in Maharashtra. There we stayed all the time together and bonded really well. I am thankful to all my co-stars for being supportive. We have a blast on the set and hopefully, it continues the same way.

Any particular challenges you faced as it is your debut show?

This is my debut show so initially, I was very nervous. I used to take a lot of retakes. I also misspelled the character names during the scenes. The first day was messed up but gradually I became comfortable with the cast and crew. My director helped me a lot, he knows how to bring out the best from any actor and he did the same with me. I am thankful to him too.

Any final message!

I want to give a heartfelt thank you message to all my fans and our viewers for giving us so much love and affection. I would request all the fans to keep showering their love on us. We promise to entertain you. I would also want to tell them to stay safe and healthy.
